Bombs Away

Summer has arrived… though we’re still in school.
LE

LE
Time for lots of pool time and brushing up on our swimming. :)

LE

LE
Then Ah-Gong, Ah-Ma, Auntie Glo, along with Uncle Dan came to SD after spending some time in TX. Took them on an evening stroll on Coronado Island overlooking DT SD.

LE
Playing “sticks” w/ Uncle Dan while waiting for seafood in Point Loma. E goes WAAAAAY back w/ Uncle Dan. Like back until the minute he was born. ;-)

LE
Picnic @ Cabrillo. And Auntie Glo “stealing” fries. :) J/K. E is sharing!

LE
Really enjoyed showing off our city to the fam!

LE
Glo is happy they brought her wheelchair along as she hates walking…

LE
Tidepools were closed but grabbed a pic right by them.

LE
Grandparents were tired so we took them back and then brought Uncle Dan on one of our fave hikes @ Black’s Beach.

LE
Who can guess what’s special about this pic? Hahahahaha.

LE
Of course we had to take them to Children’s Pool for the seals.

LE
Caught Mama and baby seals.

LE
Then Dad came along…

LE

LE

LE
We actually had never done Sunny Jim’s sea cave so we thought it’d be fun to try with Uncle Dan.

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE
We got some fresh coconut juice w/ coconut meat…

LE
And fed some to the squirrels.

LE
Took Uncle Dan to the driving range where E practices.

LE
E teaching Uncle Dan how to chip.

LE
Then we played mini golf. Hole in one on this one!

LE

LE
Afternoon picnic by the beach.

LE
They loved the tacos here (more than TX!).

LE

LE
Tree climbing is another beloved past time.

LE
They stayed with us and a few hotels around town to get a good feel for the city. Hanging out with them by the hotel fireplace.

LE

LE

LE
Playing sticks again.

LE
Grandpa caught a sisters moment. :)

LE
Took them to right near the border as Uncle Dan was pretty interested in seeing the wall.

LE
As close to Mexican tacos as you can get!

LE
Uncle Dan approved.

LE

LE
Ah-ma loved this dish — all her fave things!

LE
The time went by too fast. Then it was farewell. ‘Til we see you all again… here or Asia! (They’re used to be all masked up in TW so we played it safe as well).

Mayday

Mayday, mayday, we all got sick in May on Mother’s Day and Daddy’s b-day.

LE
Made up for it with this cake for Daddy when we all recovered…

LE
Taro with durian filling for the durian king!

LE
This beautiful full moon out our window made us think of the expanse of the universe and the smallness of our momentary afflictions. :)

LE
And we “made up” our counter photo after we all recovered w/ a random Apple water bottle and a Korean rice dog.

LE
More golfing… an all Asian crew this particular day on course.

LE
Saying goodbye to these sets — an end of an era! :*(

LE
Didn’t renew Legoland membership as we thought he might be growing out of it so we decided to try membership @ the SD Zoo, which included the Safari Park. We hadn’t been to the Safari Park so we wanted to check it off.

LE

LE

LE
What’s up? Kangaroo butt!

LE

LE
We really enjoyed the aviary.

LE
Can you spot (pun intended) flat cheetah?

LE
Love his love for reading and books!

LE
Putting in the time @ the range.

LE
But there’s always time to just sit in a tree…

Shello?

LE
Got some lobsters for an Easter dinner with friends.

LE
With hot pot, too!

LE

LE
At the driving range quite a bit…

LE
Prepping for on course sessions.

LE
Art Day @ school!

LE
And then grandparents + Auntie Glo unexpectedly showed up. :)

LE
Mommy loved this cafe…

LE
But they were still hungry so tacos it was a few doors down.

LE
Grandma enjoyed Balboa Park and all the plants, flowers, greenery.

LE

LE
Jet lag hit Grandma pretty hard but we took Grandpa around… (Wearing Daddy’s hat, haha).

LE

LE

LE
Climbed to a nook while waiting for us.

LE

LE
They’re off to Texas for a few weeks but will be back in SD afterwards.

LE
Fun robotics event @ the library with friends.

LE
Parents were invited on campus for student performances.
