… looks like it’s becoming an annual tradition and our go-to/drive-to resort. :)
This one has officially shunned ski school. :D He said he’s done w/ lessons and ready to shred all day, all mountain w/ Daddy and Mommy. Hrmmm… On the one hand, we felt proud and yay to not having to shell out an arm and a leg for lessons. On the other, hehe, so “Mommy/Daddy our time” is over. :P
Boarding as a fam was nice… Though we were moving slower and lots of patience was in order. :)
New face mask brought Ninjagoooooo vibes.
He was pretty comfortable on blues, too.
Ninjago brows included. :))
On a high-speed 2 person lift. Mommy snapped a pic on the lift behind.
Woolly, we’ve missed ya!
Jumping pics in snowboard boots is on a whole other level.
Daddy kept teasing that we weren’t catching enough air.
Up at the peak again. Can’t forget that just about half a year ago, the snow was up to the top of that sign and E was sitting on it!
Can’t tell but it was crazy windy.
But he was raring to go.
Then we made the entire trip back in one day with a stop for to-go Chinese in Riverside.
Got back Sunday evening right before second semester of school was starting.
We set out to hike to the highest point in SD to round out 2019.
It would be E’s longest hike of ~ 3mi. We weren’t sure if he’d make it all the up but he was raring to go and said he wouldn’t give up. :)
Of course a snack break was in order.
The views kept getting better and better as we ascended.
Made it to the top and he was so proud of himself. We also spotted our neighborhood in the background.
Keeping track of our peak photos for the 5-peak challenge. :)
Of course another snack break was in order. ;P
Golden Hour is, will always be… golden.
Said it before but there’s just something about California sunsets that is pure bliss.
Dusk of another decade…
Then it’s off to Mammoth for a week. Stopped by Mommy’s fave TW veggie resto on the drive up.
He digs the shaved ice bar. :)
We bought to-go Chinese while in SGV and gobbled up in our hotel in Bishop.
Carbing up early next morn as it was straight to the slopes!
Snowy peaks, we’re coming for ya.
Happy 2020!
E’s jogathon was moved earlier to end of fall semester this year (vs. beginning of second semester last year) in December.
Flashback to last time where he had just knocked out his front teeth and we can’t help but be grateful to run freely and for him to drink water on his own!
Got that feet in the air form there.
We might need to work a little on even pacing. He would surge and then bonk… to a walk. :D But he never stopped moving, yay!
Appreciate a big smile as last jogathon he couldn’t open his mouth.
School buds.
He said he’d be happy with anything more than last year and we ended up with almost double the number of laps.
Meanwhile, Daddy took the train to LA for a meeting and company holiday party. We might’ve tagged along, if not for the Hogathon.
Their team caught a hockey game.
Neat STEM event at a new to us library. They are just about to launch the program officially so all the sets were brand new.
Mommy had a bit of fun, too — making these glasses with a 3-D pen.
First time at this library branch in Point Loma and liked all the cool nautical touches.
Chilling after soccer at a new cafe.
On a daddy/son play date.
Hanging with Mommy at a coffee shop on an early release day.
An elf visit at another library.
Followed by sharing our Christmas list with Santa himself!
Fun holiday activities all around. Hello, Olaf!
He really got a kick out of seeing Cindy Lou and Grinch because their class received a special grant this year to go see The Grinch at the Old Globe Theater.
Where is E?
Local Christmas event.
We’ve been to Coronado quite a few times but never got to stroll along the water.
Christmas Eve dinner — not the best experience here as we waited longer than people who came after us for service and then due to some details lost in translation, the bill was pretty surprising. BUT, decided to maintain a generous holiday spirit and let it go. :)
Woke up to double rainbows on Christmas morn! It was such a nice, simple day — sleeping in (the boys at least!), slowly opening presents and then wearing PJ’s all day. :)
Oh and our Christmas card this year:
A few other fun takes:
Hadn’t seen the Liu’s in awhile so happy to meet for a playdate — shared his Bakugan balls Christmas present.
Made some new year shades… Countdown to 2020!
