First time at the San Diego Museum of Art… on a Resident’s Free Tuesday. Can’t believe it’s taken us this long!
Mommy loves MirĂ³! Thinking back to seeing good collections in Japan and Spain.
Abstract appreciation passed down from Mama. :)
Considering these mobiles for home accents. :) Primary color love!
Then it was off to Big Bear for Spring Break! Stopped for matcha and soft serve.
And our fave TW cafe in Temecula.
We didn’t get Ikon passes last season due to our move but we renewed them for next season, which included use of them in the spring for select resorts, which is why we ended up in Big Bear. (Much prefer Mammoth, though!)
Guess who on the far right?
And then it DUMPED overnight.
We brought two snowballs back for our neighbors who have NEVER seen snow in real life. ;-P
This snowball maker that we got in Utah years has come in clutch!
Big Bear gets boring pretty fast so we spent more time than usual at the terrain park.
E liked this drawing! It’s always nice to be back on the slopes…
Quick beach stroll before tennis class…
As in life, there is also beauty in the gray and cloudy.
Our community clubhouse and gym is now open so walked over to check it out. Pool is still in the works.
E & neighbor attempted working out. :D
The clubhouse can be rented for private parties and events. And they have a few conference rooms for meetings/work.
Appreciated the modern, laid back vibe.
Some serious card trading on the outdoor electrical box “table”, haha.
And then this boy turned TEN!!! We kept it SUPER simple this year as too much was going on the last few months. He requested ice cream instead of cake {again!} and made do with this fragrance candle.
And of course, a new Lego set. :)
Karaage and…
Pot pies!
More ice cream.
And a new Japanese sando place… Since when are we paying like more than $15 for a sandwich?!?
And some fun Pocky-ish snacks. Turned out to be a weekend of some of his fave eats. It’s hard to believe we are in the digital digits with our only begotten. :D Happy 10th, Elias! Keep smiling and shining bright! The pre-teen/teen years loom ahead but as always, one day at a time. We’ll get there when we get there.
Annual jog-a-thon fundraiser for school.
Good friend T chasing behind…
Daddy’s turn to run a lap or two w/ him.
15 laps! An increase every year… :))
The school reached their fundraising goals so here they are prepping to color bomb the principal and coach. You can’t tell from the photo but E has been struggling with this rash around his lips for MONTHS. We tried pretty much every kind of ointment, went to several doctors/dermatologists… he finally went on an antibiotic but unfortunately that one made his eyes swell up where he could barely see. Yet he didn’t want to come home and begged to stay for the color bombing.
The nurse gave him sunglasses to protect his eyes and Mommy showed up in case he had to go to the doctor at any time.
Hillcrest Farmers Market after church one Sunday… Hadn’t been in a looooong while.
Love coconut meat!
Decided to go to Cabrillo on a super low tide day for some tidepooling.
Spotted a crab but wasn’t sure if dead or alive!
Neat starfish.
Lots of anemones.
Some pondering…
Rock cairning…
Signs of spring!
**Back to reality** — who remembers that song? :)
Semi-settled down and back to just living life things…
Like (vegan) V-day donuts for Daddy… gotta somehow health-ify ’em, right?
And chocolate from a new chocolatier for Mommy!
Zoo visit w/ buddies…
Given up on that frozen lemonade fight. :D At least they all just shared one!
Hadn’t caught the red pandas in awhile.
Some mini-cakes for J’s b-day.
Then off to the Midway! Meeting another friend there…
Finally caught a wee little bit of air!
This one is almost like J casting a spell on E to jump. :P
Views from the flight deck are always enjoyable.
What is this contraption? :D
Turn all the knobs.
These ruffians!
Perfect sunset on the way out right when it closed.
