Ong-goings

Turning Another Page…

LE
We made the most of our last few days at the condo and trying out new cafes. Been wanting to visit this rooftop restaurant for awhile…

LE

LE
They have a little tent for yoga…

LE
And an aerial yoga class was happening.

LE
Took a walk to the cove since it wasn’t too far away… Don’t think we’ve been here at night actually!

LE

LE
The seals are just as stinky in the evening, haha.

LE
Thumbs up on the creative food!

LE
Oh, but their raw carrot cake… The boys rated it too carrot-y.

LE
They needed some fried stuff to balance the healthy. ;-P Hole-in-the-wall Calvin’s is a regular fave for them.

LE

LE
And then, voila, on January 18, we closed on our house and received the keys. We had just a few days to get some third party contractors’ work done that we didn’t use the builder for before our containers arrived.

LE
Put new carpet in as we didn’t like all the builder choices. Felt bad they ripped out perfectly new carpet but supposedly it was donated so hopefully it was put to good use. There was a bit of drama with the scheduling and some of the contractors not making it on the right day as we had such a small window of time and order was important but we just gritted our teeth and tried to make it all work.

LE
LOVE the chevron backsplash. :)) Builder didn’t have this either…

LE
Makeshift workstation for a few days as we didn’t have any of our furniture.

LE
Epoxy-ing the garage floors was a must for Y. The previous builder included it (perhaps accidentally?) for our other house but this time we got to choose the finish.

LE
The epoxy guy did a great job!

LE
Epoxy wasn’t high on Mommy’s list of things for the house but the speckle and smoothness did turn out well…

LE
Mi-Boxes, we meet again. Being in the city, our new neighborhood had much narrower streets but the driver (same one!) angled the two with the doors facing each other.

LE

LE
Last run and morning sunrise by the bay. It was a long time coming but now to officially move in and unpack…

Double Arc

“We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

LE
Rode our bikes around the bay again on our MLK day off…

LE
Catching some Pokemon.

LE

LE

LE
This fella hung around for a while.

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE
And like outta nowhere, a double arc appeared! Made us think back to old school David Meece’s “God’s Promises – Rainbows in the Night.” :)

LE

LE
We kept riding and the rainbow colors just got deeper.

LE
Think we’ve only seen 3 double rainbows in our lives: 2 in SD and 1 in CO.

LE

LE
It was like God whispering, “I’m here. Don’t forget I’m here. Always…”

LE

LE

LE
Ended the day with some yummy food from a couple of places…

LE

LE
When you can’t decide which kale chip flavor, hehe.

Next up, house closing in January 18! Excited but also dreading the unpacking… Rainbows, think rainbows!

LE
Some sneaks from our house walk-through…

LE

LE
Random, but Daddy’s been seeing a lot of Rivians in the Apple parking lot.

“Forced” Staycation

LE
We settled into our AirBnb, basecamp for a few weeks before our new house closing. Couldn’t complain though — it was a brand new place by the bay and the owner was just so nice and accommodating with our situation.

LE

LE

LE
E loved this little loft.

LE
Can you spot our Zojirushi? Most prized appliance. :))

LE
The place had three bedrooms so actually a good amount of space and then this little second loft with an interesting collapsible ladder that led up to an office space.

LE

LE
Parking was pretty rough, as is expected in this area, but three cars added to the complexity.

LE
More takeout! Trying new places but also making the rounds on some of our faves…

LE

LE
Only Mommy gets excited on expensing kale chips. ;-P

LE

LE
Went to a home and garden show downtown to see what vendors we might need for the new place… Took a stroll around Rady Shell as there was an event going on that day.

LE
More outdoor therapy. :) The steps down from Sunset Cliffs aren’t always open so we had to go down when it appeared we could.

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE
Mommy loved her morning runs around Crown Point and the bay…

LE

LE

LE
We didn’t pack in our bikes and brought them along as there are lots of trails around.

LE

LE

LE

LE

LE
We biked some pretty long stretches with playground stops along the way.

LE
Sunset break.

LE

LE

LE

LE
Matcha by the ocean break.

LE
Taco break.

LE
Vertical garden idea possibly for our new (much smaller) backyard?

LE
More food pics, haha.

LE
When you can’t decide between a turmeric or matcha latte…

LE

LE

LE
More morning run scapes.

LE

LE
Our first time at Hadilao…

LE

LE

LE
It’s a bit overrated, we thought. It was worth a try for free, haha, and the performances were fun but probably wouldn’t go out of our way to come back! Though our new place is like super close to it…

Though it’s a time where it seems like just a holding pattern, we’ve been appreciating each moment and always practicing gratitude.
