Happy Big 2, Aslan!

You mean I get to eat cake while wearing a Cars hat?

It was months ago we visited Hope Park and E couldn’t do nearly as much as he could this time.

Scouted out a new skate/scooter park in McKinney.

LE

LE

We bought a membership to the Heard Museum and went on a nice day while their Dinosaurs Live! exhibit was still happening.

LE

LE

E was excited to see them but yet a little scared, though he did acknowledge they were “just plastic”. :P

LE

LE

And there was more to see and do in the museum!

We had to drive out to Irving for packet pick-up for Mommy’s last race of the season so we stopped by The Tubes at IBC. Last time we were here, it was sans a kiddo.

LE

LE

LE
He made us climb through the dang thing w/ him, over and over and over. :D Mommy’s knees survived enough for an awesome race that weekend but Daddy was pretty sore. In this case, tallness was clearly a disadvantage. Hehe.

“Reading” (Daniel the Tiger, a fave) to Princess!

More to come, as always!

Good Good Father

Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think you’re like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you’re pleased
And that I’m never alone

You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

Oh, and I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching
For answers only you provide
Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word

You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

Cause you are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

Oh, it’s love so undeniable
I, I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable
I, I can hardly think

As you call me deeper still
Into love, love, love

Tomlin, we tire of you not.

Happy Thanksgiving! We’re off to spend a week or so in San Diego.

Grateful, ever grateful, yet not nearly enough.

Patches, Festivals, Carnivals

Fall around here needs to be taken seriously and you oughta get out as much as possible. ESPECIALLY with a totster who can’t sit still… ;) We sure did!

Then halfway through October, our son transformed into Buzz Lightyear. ;-P
LE

We went to many a festival and carnival! This chinky Buzz got many looks and folks found him all around hilarious… His intermittent “To infinity ‘indiminity’ (Toddler-ese) and beyond” and “Star Command, do you read me?” were swell touches.

LE

LE

LE
A momentous moment — his first piece of candy!!! Yes, in his entire life! Well, not counting chocolate. (‘Cuz it’s in a category of its own!) :P

LE

Guess those soccer lessons came in handy!

LE

Attempts at flying!

LE

LE

LE

LE
Has it started? Nah, we’ll discount this as Buzz being nice. Hehe.

LE

LE

LE

He wore his costume out. Lol. So much so that on Halloween eve itself, he was just a bit tired of the garb. :) But he put on his super-hero ‘tude and donned it one last time. :P

After our last festival, we treated him to Monster Yogurt! (Well, actually, they were giving out free froyo for costumed kiddos). And what do you know, his outfit matched the cafe’s colors almost to a tee. :) The play area kept him busy as we waited out trick-or-treaters. Plus, it was daylight savings so good excuse to stay out late.

And then just like that, our Buzz “retired”. :)

PS: We are happy to report that E consumed a grand total of three pieces of candy through this sugary spell. But still as hyper as ever.
