Oh, I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think you’re like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you’re pleased
And that I’m never alone
You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
Oh, and I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching
For answers only you provide
Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word
You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
Cause you are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us
Oh, it’s love so undeniable
I, I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable
I, I can hardly think
As you call me deeper still
Into love, love, love
Tomlin, we tire of you not.
Happy Thanksgiving! We’re off to spend a week or so in San Diego.
Grateful, ever grateful, yet not nearly enough.
Fall around here needs to be taken seriously and you oughta get out as much as possible. ESPECIALLY with a totster who can’t sit still… ;) We sure did!
Then halfway through October, our son transformed into Buzz Lightyear. ;-P
We went to many a festival and carnival! This chinky Buzz got many looks and folks found him all around hilarious… His intermittent “To infinity ‘indiminity’ (Toddler-ese) and beyond” and “Star Command, do you read me?” were swell touches.
A momentous moment — his first piece of candy!!! Yes, in his entire life! Well, not counting chocolate. (‘Cuz it’s in a category of its own!) :P
Guess those soccer lessons came in handy!
Attempts at flying!
Has it started? Nah, we’ll discount this as Buzz being nice. Hehe.
He wore his costume out. Lol. So much so that on Halloween eve itself, he was just a bit tired of the garb. :) But he put on his super-hero ‘tude and donned it one last time. :P
After our last festival, we treated him to Monster Yogurt! (Well, actually, they were giving out free froyo for costumed kiddos). And what do you know, his outfit matched the cafe’s colors almost to a tee. :) The play area kept him busy as we waited out trick-or-treaters. Plus, it was daylight savings so good excuse to stay out late.
And then just like that, our Buzz “retired”. :)
PS: We are happy to report that E consumed a grand total of three pieces of candy through this sugary spell. But still as hyper as ever.
Daddy has been cutting E’s hair as he’s been complaining it’s highway robbery that a toddler’s haircut costs more than a man’s. ;P But as “picture day” was looming at his MDO, we took him back to the salon. We tried a different one this time. It was super geared towards kiddos with plenty of car/plane/vehicle seats. E was still apprehensive and squirmy and chose to stand.
Whatever works? It took a police car, Cars on TV, lots of cajoling/smiling/attention diverting, and the promise of playing at the train table after to get the job done.

He has also been crushing on “soldier-man” stuff.
We went to packet pick-up for another evening race: Daddy/E were going to do the fun run and Mommy was racing the half.
Getting his glow gear on. :)
And then we got sidetracked… Well, it was raining outside and there was nothing else to do so why not?
Weird, but surprisingly actually kind of fun!
On race night, before heading out, E says, “Mommy, you look soooo cute!” Hahaha. OMG, where did he learn that? Please do not ever tell another girl that. Ever. :D
E and Daddy ran about a mile along the course and cheered on Mommy through the whole race, which has never happened before. Those high-fives from son meant the world. :)) The end result was a half marathon PR while trying to chase down a crazy fast ex-collegiate x-country gal but to no avail. 2nd OA. Times may have been a bit skewed, though, as the first girl stopped following the lead police car for awhile and Mommy followed her… (That’s what you do in a chase, right???). Looks like it cut the course a bit. But we beat all the guys which is a rarity!!! ;)
Sweaty and tired post-race pic:
And second time sporting the Boston jacket — loud & proud! Lol.
Random: The owners of the beloved (and authentic) Singaporean resto around here is retiring! :( We went to get our last fix and say farewell to “Uncle”. BUT the place isn’t closing as it appears he sold it to one of his Hispanic workers. So we’ll see if it’ll taste the same. :)
