Trip around the sun for Mommy and year of school for E. Thanks, Uncle Dan, for getting acai bowls delivered!
New house progress…
We could catch the air show from the 2nd floor. It’ll be nice to watch from home next year! But also loud…
Signed our names in the frame.
We had like 1 week of school and then Labor Day long weekend! It was hooootttttt so a beach day was in order.
How have we missed this mural with his school in PB? SD never ceases to throw us pleasant little surprises. :)
Making that zoo membership worthwhile. Stopped by when we forgot that libraries aren’t open on Sundays anymore.
First time (that we can recall) catching brown bear.
New boba place (that started in Malaysia).
School is tiring!
BizTown was such a fun and enriching camp! It’s a mini version of SD businesses/organizations where the kids interview and eventually become employees all while learning economics, finance, business and entrepreneurship (their teams also pitched to a Shark Tank-esque panel).
Students interviewed for several positions based on their skill set and preferences.
E was accepted as CEO of Scripps! He got paid a whopping $10/day. :)) They used their earnings to buy things like popcorn and souvenirs from other shops.
A CEO in shorts fits our style, hahaha.
Hawaiian shaved ice on a SD “scorcher” summer day.
More pool parties to end the summer with a bang…
These.boys!
One last night zoo visit.
Look beyond.
Later, gator.
Why do we always succumb to getting these for them at exorbitant prices when they can be bought at the dollar store??? Sigh.
The show doesn’t get old. But the boys were too consumed with their slushies.
And fries.
LOVE this photo. They kept talking and talking even after EVERYONE had left the zoo premises.
E’s 2nd year at film camp. The new location for their center was so nice!
We watched their final videos in the auditorium while they received their certs.
Little red carpet backdrop area was a nice touch.
And then just like that, it was the day before 1st day of school!
Followed by 1st day of school, haha.
Our 4th grade sign. :)
E had been eyeing this trail for quite awhile not but we were always iffy if he was ready for it and kept coming up with excuses to put it off.
Welp, today was the day! A bit sketchy when multiple signs warn you not to continue… ;-P YOLO?
Upon entry, it certainly FELT like Saigon — the humidity!
Definitely, it’s not for the faint of heart…
It’s probably one of the shortest hikes we’ve been on in SD but likely the most difficult? There’s a rope pull @ the beginning (no pix as we were too busy trying to conquer it!) and then the slippery slopes and rocks.
So many crevices and cracks you can fall through…
And then some good ole’ scrambling which he lives for!
Waiting for us. :)
Our ‘lil “angel”.
The last section to the top was rough… but we made it!
#worthit
Oomph, stay back!
Oh hi, Alicia Keys’ residence! Caught their kiddos jumping in their infinity pool…
Have to admit, our heart rate shot up a little getting some of these photos, hehe.
So yea, for a short but challenging hike, highly recommend!
